Don Komarechka posted a photo:	One of the best snowflakes images of this season, at least in my opinion :)Playing around with angles of reflection, the "main" snowflake is reflecting a lot of light from the flash and the "secondary" snowflake, being on a slightly different angle, is mostly transparent. Catching some prismatic colour is also a bonus! It looks like the two snowflakes formed together, by the way they fit together so perfectly. My Photoblog: don.komarechka.com | My Portfolio: www.donkom.ca | Google+ Don Komarechka posted a photo:	One of my favourite little waterfalls, located in Bracebridge, Ontario. This was photographed after a fresh dusting of snow on a recent cold winter day and I couldn't have hoped for a better image. Tell me your thoughts! My Photoblog: don.komarechka.com | My Portfolio: www.donkom.ca | Google+ Don Komarechka posted a photo:	An ice cloud sits between the sun and my camera, creating the halo and sun dogs you see in the picture. Cold winter days are the best to get out and take pictures! My Photoblog: don.komarechka.com | My Portfolio: www.donkom.ca Don Komarechka posted a photo:	This snowflake fell yesterday (December 28, 2011), and the image took over four hours to completely edit and focus-stack. I'm very happy with the results, and I can't wait to big into the other gems waiting for me to put together!Oh, I've got a Snowflake-a-Day project I'm working on at Google+, add me to your circles! Don Komarechka posted a photo:	They say every cloud has a silver lining - for those curious, it looks like this.I'm doing a Snowflake-a-Day project on Google Plus! Posting one of my snowflake images each day for 100 days. Check it out!My Photoblog: don.komarechka.com | My Portfolio: www.donkom.ca Don Komarechka posted a photo:	A frost crystal I found this morning. Even without snowfall I am enjoying winter macro photography! You'll want to click on it to view it larger. My Photoblog: don.komarechka.com | My Portfolio: www.donkom.ca Don Komarechka posted a photo:	This image was taken near WIlson's Falls, Ontario. A small portion of the waterway was smooth and calm, and fell into the turmoil below in an interesting way.I don't often go for an abstract feel to my images, so tell me what you think! My Photoblog: don.komarechka.com | My Portfolio: www.donkom.ca Don Komarechka posted a photo:	Welcome back winter! I've been photographing frost for the past few mornings. This was a bit on an unusual one that I found this morning. What clearly looks like a mix of both cubic and hexagonal crystal growth, and (use your imagination) looks a little like an angel. My Photoblog: don.komarechka.com | My Portfolio: www.donkom.ca Don Komarechka posted a photo:	This tiger was photographed at the Toronto Zoo. The animal was pacing back and forth infront of a gate that appeared to lead to another enclosure with another tiger - guess it was lonely! Its predictable pacing let me set of the camera and fire off bursts as it was facing my direction. My Photoblog: don.komarechka.com | My Portfolio: www.donkom.ca Don Komarechka posted a photo:	This Lion is one of two that reside at the Toronto Zoo. This photo is barely cropped, and made with Canon's EF 800mm F/5.6L IS lens. Such wonderful creatures! My Photoblog: don.komarechka.com | My Portfolio: www.donkom.ca Don Komarechka posted a photo:	Photographed at a focal length of 2240mm (800mm + 2x + 1.4x) on a full-frame camera body and then cropped down to just this section. The full image has the entire moon filling the frame, but I loved the way the shadows were adding detail to the craters. Fun with big lenses! :)I wrote a bit about this photo and others from the evening on my blog - check it out!My Photoblog: don.komarechka.com | My Portfolio: www.donkom.ca Don Komarechka posted a photo:	A view like this almost makes you want to jump into the cool clear waters below. Photographed at Devil's Rock, near New Liskeard, Ontario.Unfortunately, the picture is somewhat deceiving. The water is too far away, you'd fall to your death... as some poor souls have accidentally done in years past.I can't help but take in a deep breath of fresh air looking at this shot. :)My Photoblog: don.komarechka.com | My Portfolio: www.donkom.ca Don Komarechka posted a photo:	An inuksuk sits on a rocky shore near Tobermory, Ontario, creating a silhouette against the last rays of sunlight from the day.It was something of a stupid idea to wait until sunset at this location, as I had a 45-minute walk back to my car with the light fading extremely quickly. with no flashlight. I made it back in before complete darkness, with stars overhead. The things I do for a picture! :)My Photoblog: don.komarechka.com | My Portfolio: www.donkom.ca Don Komarechka posted a photo:	Devil's Rock, the destination of a 45-minute hike in the New Liskeard, Ontario region. The view is spectacular, especially in the early morning when I set out to make this image. My Photoblog: don.komarechka.com | My Portfolio: www.donkom.ca Don Komarechka posted a photo:	This Cedar Waxwing was perched on this branch for only a few seconds. The birds would constantly be searching for insects flying by, lit up by the low-angle of the sun in the evening.Since this photo was taken at 1120mm, I needed to manually focus the shot. To add to my troubles, I made this image hand-holding the lens. Not the easiest thing to do, as your arms get tired very quickly! My Photoblog: don.komarechka.com | My Portfolio: www.donkom.ca Don Komarechka posted a photo:	A small muskrat was swimming in a small creek surrounded by a lush forest, reflecting on the surface of the water. This little guy was foraging for bits of twigs and branches to build a nest. I watched it for a while as it collected small underwater roots and brought them back to its hiding place.Photo taken with a Canon 800mm F/5.6L ISMy Photoblog: don.komarechka.com | My Portfolio: www.donkom.ca Don Komarechka posted a photo:	I was spending a bit of time in the Bear Creek Wetlands the other day, and noticed two turtles sitting on the other end of the marsh. With 1120mm of telephoto lens in front of my camera, they were easy to bring into the frame. As I waited, I noticed more and more turtles showing up, until there were six.Photographed using a Canon 800mm F/5.6L IS with a 1.4x extender III.My Photoblog: don.komarechka.com | My Portfolio: www.donkom.ca Don Komarechka posted a photo:	Its been a fun week!Canon allowed me to take their 800mm lens for a test drive, complete with the 1.4x extender III.
