Touch of Winter
This is the very first full snowflake photo I have taken. When I saw this appear on the back of my camera, I was so excited that I spent much of that day outside in the cold.
The following winter I photographed much more beautiful snowflakes, but this is the one that started the addiction.
I used what I had on hand to create a high-contrast background; That happened to be a home-made black mitten (thanks grandma!). I still use that mitten for my snowflakes, as I haven’t found something that works better.
Photographed in Barrie, Ontario.
