Snowflake Heart

Looking at snowflakes is very similar to staring at clouds or a starry sky. You’ll start to see shapes and patterns as your imagination takes over. This photo (roughly) reminded me of a heart, though you may see something different. Use your imagination!

the snowflake has a slight blue tint that I amplified to add another layer of depth to this image. Photographed on an angle, this image comes to life with edge details and bevels.

This technique, which I use for all of my snowflake shots, is very time consuming and requires dozens of images to make one completely in focus.

Photographed in Barrie, Ontario.
