Prismatic

The edges of snow crystals create beautiful prismatic light that, while subtle, adds life to the image.

Standing out on a black background, it looks as if the snowflake is glowing from inside with a little sparkle from its adornment.

I used the macro photography set up pictured here, and all of my snowflake photographs are made entirely hand-held.
