Well-deserved Meal

This Jumping Spider (Zebra Spider to be precise) caught itself a long-legged fly.

As a photographer, I have a certain respect for the reflexes of these flies. The eTTL pre-flash from my camera will startle them so quickly that by the time the photo is being captured, they have left the frame. Manual flash is normally required to capture them… so this spider has a very well-deserved meal for catching one.

The spider kept turning its back to me when I got into focus range, as if to say “This is mine, go find your own!”.
