Rusted Retirement
Continuing my exploration in infrared, false colour seemed to take away from the classic feel, so this one is processed to black & white.
This old truck is conveniently placed by the roadside as a temptation for photographers. Many local photographers know the location, and I’ve been there a few times myself. Placed here to enjoy it’s retirement, it’ll likely be visited by countless photographers before it fades from memory.
This image shows the classic feel of infrared – dark sky, glowing plantlife, and contrasty shadows. Infrared light behaves differently than regular light, and reflects off of different surfaces in some surreal ways. Making images in “invisible light” is a fun experience in the field, as I’m never quite sure how the image is going to look until I see it on the camera’s LCD screen.
