Lunar Eclipse
On December 21, 2010 we were greeted with a spectacular lunar eclipse, for those willing to fight off sleep and freezing temperatures.
In the early morning (around 2:00AM) with the temperature dropping to below -20C, I watched as the eclipse went from 0 to 100%. The end result is this image, showing the moon’s path from light to shadow.
I photographed the phases in separate frames and arranged them in an arch myself. It isn’t following the same path the moon followed during this transition, its more condensed.
I returned to this exact same location (Innisfil Beach Park) seven months later to make the image “Raining Fire”.
Photographed in Innisfil, Ontario.
