Landing Pad
Staying in one place for long enough will always have its reward in Macro Photography. Out of the blue, this Pearl Crescent Butterfly landed to my right, inches away from the camera and stayed just long enough to be photographed.
I would spot these butterflies from a distance, and try to slowly get close without startling them. The effort was never rewarded with a photo, because I would move too quickly and scare them, or too slowly and they wouldn’t wait around for me.
Waiting for one to come near me ended up being the best chance to make the image.
Photographed in Barrie, Ontario.
