Frozen in Flight

You’re looking at a hoverfly of some kind, doing what it does best: hovering. It was staying still for long enough that I was able to move into focus, and even focus stack the image (two frames are used to increase the depth of field in this case).

This was photographed in Rural Bulgaria, though it could have easily been seen in my own backyard.
