The end of a season, and the end of the sunflowers. The harvest machines were parked nearby, to be started up in the morning. This was the final sunset of these sunflowers.
It is amazing how many great photographs can be made in one place. Directly beside this field of sunflowers is the tree that I used to make the image “Field of Dreams”, as well as a few others.
Sunflowers are normally depicted bright, yellow, and shimmering in the sun. While their time has passed in this image, they can still be beautiful. Nature is rarely ugly.
Photographed in Innisfil, Ontario.
